We are thinking about going with Regions for the big day!

Has anybody delievered at Regions? Was it enjoyable ?

Re: Regions Hospital

  • I delivered there, and I loved it!  The staff was great, the midwives were awesome, the food was actually pretty good, maybe I feel this way because the delivery went pretty easy but it was a great experience.

  • I delivered there in February.  I loved them and plan to use them for second when that time comes.  The facility is beautiful.  My L&D nurses were amazing and supportive.  We were checked on often by the nurses and the doctors came in to check on us too.  We had great recovery nurses too.  I really liked that they prefer you to have the baby in the room with you and that you do all the care.  They just checked in and answered my questions and did the medical procedures.  The food was good, they had good TV, and were very relaxed with visitors.  I would say the only negative I can think of is the pathetic cot DH had to sleep on, it was plastic and so noisy.

  • I delivered there last January, and will again any day now. I absolutely loved it and can't wait! We live down in Apple Valley but wouldn't imagine changing. The food was great, the staff, from triage to post partum was great, they were very accomodating of DH and all of our visitors.

I had a c/s with DD because she was breech, and the whole surgical staff was amazing. And, because I was there for so long, I had a lot of interaction with the post partum staff and on call OB's, who were all great. I'm going for a VBAC this time and everybody I've seen has been very supportive.

Like PP said, they are not pushy about taking your LO to the nursery, like at most hospitals, which is great. I only got in trouble once when they caught me sleeping in bed with her :)

  • I delivered there and I hated it. In fact, I'm provider shopping right now because if I want a VBAC with my current midwife, I have to go to Regions.

My L&D experience was awful. Absolutely awful. Most of this was due to my nurse, but it still completely ruined my experience.

Postpartum staff was wonderful, for the most part. K had horrible gas issues right away (we later learned it was soy allergy through my breastmilk) and one of my nurses refused to call K's doctor to ask about mylicon (DH ended up running to target and buying them so we could give them ourselves). I knew they were safe because my stepmom is a NICU nurse, and she gave me the dosage and everything for K's weight.

  • I delivered c/s are Regions and my LO ended up being born with several issues that put her in the NICU (we were delivering full term and expected a happy healthy baby).  Had I not delivered at at regions or a hospital like them (united or abbott) capable of handling emergency situations - my LO may have had much worse problems.  And a huge plus was then we stayed at the same hospital together so I could still visit as I recovered from c/s.

The staff were amazing!  Complications weren't something I thought about when I picked regions, it just happened to be close to our house.  Now I've moved but made it a point to pick a doctor that delivers that just so I know my baby will have the best care if anything (go forbid) happens with my next one.
