I switched my baby to similac sensistive because regular similac just made her so uncomfortable she would cry all day and stomache hard as a rock and no bowel movements, now we have addressed the gas and constipation, but now she just spits up chunks of formula, we burp her good, hold upright for 30 minutes, even an hour or two but as soon as you lay her down, she spits up a big chunk of formula, my daycare even made a comment about it because they thought she was sick, the spitting up does not bother her at all, I have emailed doc to see if I should try soy or another sensistive brand. So wondering if any mothers have the same problem with similac sensistive?
Re: Similac Sensistive
If I remember correctly (may want to search the boards and read further) from the moms group I attend... chunky spit up is usually a sign of acid reflux. if it's chunky then I believe that means it's digested, and w/ the reflux, it's coming back up. They were prescribed Zantac.
~we have switched formulas 3 times and have ended up on Nutramigen for gas and lactose intolerance. She feels so much better!
Hopefully your LO feels better soon!!
We use Similac advance and occasionally having constipation problems. Our Dr. suggested adding 1 tbs of prune juice to his bottle once a day. She didn't want us to switch formulas yet and the prune juice seems to do the trick!
