Tonight for dinner, DD had milk and about 1/4 c applesauce and didn't touch anything else (that I know she likes).
I think 10 bites is pretty good. As a rule, my DD's biggest meal is usually lunch. Her breakfasts have been pretty small lately, a big lunch, a small-ish afternoon snack, but by dinner she's usually done with eating for the day.

I think I read once that a toddler/preschooler should eat 1TBSP per year of their age of everything you're eating/serving. (not sure if that holds true, also can't figure out how that works when you serve tacos or something.)
But that being said - I have days where I'm not that hungry and others where I'm starving. DS is the same. Some meals 10 bites is all he'll eat, others he cleans his plate and asks for more.
Rory is still a snacker...but a healthy one. I don't fret if she doesn't eat all of her meal. I'd love it if she'd eat 10 bites!!! Usually she will eat her fruit, veggie and bread if we have a piece/slice of bread. Not a big deal to me. I know she'll eat when she's hungry.
Well, that's sorta what I figured. She usually does eat a good lunch, but not breakfast or dinner. She usually eats maybe 5-10 bites of breakfast and dinner.
The only thing I'd ask is to ask whether she snacks a lot during the day. Sometimes I find that DD won't eat much dinner if she's been snacking (even on healthy things). Some days she just wants to graze, and if it's all healthy, I don't really mind. But if she's asking for fruit snacks, crackers, etc. I really try to limit those things.
Noah can eat as much as an adult when it comes to junk (cookies, cake, ice cream, etc). My parents watch him every day so he gets spoiled during the day with them.
His biggest meal is usually breakfast. He begs for it. He may eat a bowl of oatmeal w/fruit and a yogurt. For lunch he may have grilled cheese and chicken noodle soup. Dinner is our biggest challenge. Last night he didn't eat a bite of dinner.

More than 10 bites is pretty typical of DD. She has a voracious appetite and eats well. Every now and then she'll eat a light lunch but for the most part she's always pretty hungry and even eats all of her snacks. She only weighs 32 pounds so I have no idea where all of the food goes!
I am just agreeing with other that my DS can eat like crazy at lunch but generally picks at dinner. I think their bodies are smarter than our adult brains and know to take in the biggest meal during the middle of the day.
Ben is a better eater some days than others. For breakfast, he typically will eat waffles or toast with butter and jelly, a fruit, and drink milk and OJ. He will sometimes have a small snack between breakfast and lunch like a banana or some raisins.
For lunch, he usually eats what we had for supper the night before which includes a meat and a couple of vegetables and fruit. He'll eat more fruit between lunch and supper.
For supper, he'll eat what we do just smaller servings. He will eat great for a few days and then not as much and then start eating again. My pedi always told me they will eat when they're hungry and not to worry so much about it. I was worried he wasn't eating much and didn't gain much weight between his 2 and 3 year appt. but he had gained 4 lbs. I don't stress about it any more.

Re: So how much does your kid eat?
It totally depends on the day.

DD does not eat dinner except for on rare occasions. DS eats like 5 or 6 bites of dinner usually and i am fine with that.
DD's food intake for the day is usually
Breakfast: 5 Strawberries, 1/2 piece of toast, and 1 piece of turkey sausage
Morning Snack: Bananna
Lunch: Apple Sauce, 2 pieces of turkey lunchmeat, 1 cup of corn-by far her biggest meal of the day!
Afternoon Snack: 1 cup of yougart
Dinner: nothing, sometimes she will have a cup of popcorn after dinner.
I think DD eats plenty although at times it does not seem like much. She is also extrememly tall for her age, but really skinny.
