I hate the Facebook pregnancy announcements. Anyone who is important enough to us to know that we're expecting will hear it from us in person.
After moving far away from home... that's unfortunately not an option for us. We'll call close friends, but many friends we keep in touch with via FB, so we'll announce it at some point down the line.
I'm waiting until my second trimester to post on Facebook. I've told my family and closest friends as soon as I found out I was pregnant. I only have 2 more weeks till my second trimester and I can't wait to post it to Facebook!
We told those on FB the day that I was released from the RE and we saw the HB. We both knew that there was no way that we would be able to wait until 13 weeks. So that is the "magic" date that we chose.
I'm not going to FB the news until EVERYONE who is important to me already knows. I'll probably wait until 15-20 weeks to post on FB... I'll probably have to disable my wall for awhile so people can't post congrats before the word is out.

We posted on facebook at 8 weeks and I have posted a picture but I have not put the picture as my profile just in case some of the internal jobs I am applying for look at my facebook. They don't have access to the pictures because I keep everything private.
We are having our close friends over for Labor Day - I'll be 12w2d and we'll tell them then. Then I'll probably tell my work. Only after that will I announce on FB. I work for a university and FB plays a part in my job so I have a few coworkers and students on there.
Back when MySpace was cool there was a girl I went to high school with who announced two pregnancies right away and lost both babies. I thought how awful it would have been to go through that "publicly" and won't set myself up for that while loss is still a significant possibility (in the first tri).

I think Facebook is the last place where you will be sharing with others because there are so many people you are "friends" with that you normally would not personally call to share.
Just remember whoever you tell, you have the possibility of having to "untell." I can imagine the more people, the harder that is.
Just like most the ladies here, only family and close friends know. I have my 12 week appt. tomorrow..I can't wait to hear the hear beat. After that I will tell people at work and post on facebook ( : I am not officially in the 2 tri, but its close enough!

I've got co-workers, people from high school, moms of DS' friends, etc on Facebook. The idea of posting that early, *shudder*.
To each his own - but I think I need to set up some smaller groups on Facebook before I announce anything!
Wow - had the pee dried on the stick yet?
Wow. You are really, really lucky you didn't have to untell. It was hard enough to untell my very close family with my first loss.
Wow. You're brave.
We'll wait until after we've told all close friends/family/co-workers before posting on FB, so sometime in 2nd tri.
This!
