Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

DNC

I just found out that I have to have a dnc tomorrow.  After 8 weeks of pregnancy, I am totally devestated. Anyone out there had a health baby after a DNC?

  • I'm sorry for your loss. The D&C will not be the funnest day for you, but it's generally pain-free and the recovery is easy. As for getting pregnant after one, I have no idea. Pregnant women generally don't hang out on this board to answer questions about pregnancy. Maybe you should try the "Pregnant After Loss" board.

  • I'm sorry for your loss. I just had my d&c 4 weeks ago last friday. Yah, it's mostly pain free - except for all the emotional pain. That doesn't go away. It was moer difficult of a recovery though than people painted it...so take it easy afterward. Between emotions, drugs, exhaustion and recovery, I didn't feel somewhat "normal" for at least a week. Hope it all goes well for you. I know how stressful that night before can be and hate that anyone has to go through it.
  • I just had my d&c on friday and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. But I hope and pray we will get our take home babies. I'm sorry for your loss, sending hugs!

  • I had my D&C this past friday...Recovery is like a mess of ups and downs, but everyone is different. Just have tissues in every room. I started crying while doing laundry....I accidentally used a drier sheet to blow my nose.....

There are a LOT of women that have spoken to me and they have at some point in their lives experienced a loss,  had a D&C, and have then had healthy ,beautiful ,babies. I hope each and every single one of us are able to do the same.

     Thoughts and prayers to you.
