Dumb question but I honestly have no idea as I have never bought them. If you are a frugal shopper (sales, coupons, etc.) how much would you estimate that you spend each month on diapers. I know that I could google but each site seems to have an agenda of some sort..."go cloth it's cheaper!" "cloth isn't cheaper, why waste the time!" and all that...
Totally self-serving question because I am trying to figure out if we have broken even on the $780 that I have spent on CDs for MJ and baby #2.
Thanks!
Re: How much are disposable diapers?
Right now a pack of size 3 huggies is $9 for 31 diapers. That lasts about 5-6 days average. And I usually have at least a $1.50 coupon but you can't count on that.
So about $36 a month (Plus the cost of wipes.)
I will buy the $40.99 box of pampers cruisers at BRU when they put the $5 off value box coupon out and pair it with at least $1.50 manufacturers coupon. Lately I've been getting good deals at CVS. I imagine that I spend about $35/mo on diapers and maybe $6-12 on wipes depending on how bad #2's are.
I guess that translates to about $960 to get her to 2, but we didn't buy diapers until she was about 5 mos old due to the diapers we got at the shower.
Well, it depends on the size. If I can catch a great sale I'll do that, but otherwise I do Costco's Kirkland Brand.
For size 1-2 (up to 15 lb), it works out to be about $0.18/dipe regular price and they have sales. For size 3 (Andrew currently) it works out to $0.23/dipe regular price. We've gotten cheaper diapers online on big sales too.
We don't change his diaper often (about 5 times a day) and don't use a lot of wipes (only when he poops). We've spent negligable money in wipes.
I'd estimate we've spent $500 ish on diapers in Andrew's life so far, and normally I pay regular price at Costco (not as careful as I should be.)
I'll gues we've spent $50 on wipes.
