Good morning!
Just wanted to follow up on my post last week about DS's first airplane trip!
When I called Southwest to add him as a lap infant for the flight, I asked how full the flight was...and there were only 2 seats left, and I figured it would sell out by Friday...and it did (both flights were full.) So I opted to wear DS in the airport and check his carseat, along with one suitcase. DH dropped us off (he couldn't come in with us though because he had to get to work)...and DS fell asleep in the car on the way there and woke up right before we got up to the counter (despite a really, really long line!) - perfect timing for putting him in the carrier. We breezed through security...I didn't have to take him off and they didn't even ask to check the 12 oz of BM that we were flying with either.
It was really hot when we got on the plane and we were waiting at the gate for like 15-20 minutes...and he was getting a little fussy. I ended up nursing him while we were waiting until we were up in the air and he fell asleep...slept for about half of the flight and then was happy playing with a few toys. Just gave him the paci on the way down and the pressure didn't seem to bother him at all.
The flight back home went well also - he didn't sleep on the plane at all during that flight, but I sat next to a really nice woman who played with him a lot, lol!
Thanks for your tips last week! I would definitely fly with him (and without DH) again!
Re: FU: Flying Southwest with LO
YEAH! Good for you! I work for SWA so I am glad it went well. I am impressed you traveling alone with your LO. My LO has not even travelled yet!
ITA. Me too!
