Working Moms - What's your routine?

What is your morning routine?

What is your evening routine?

I just started back to work PT today :( This morning went great. I think I could have even slept in a little longer, since we were ready to go about 20 minutes early.

Re: Working Moms - What's your routine?

  • I get up at 5:30 if Paige isn't awake.  She will normally get up around 5-5:15, I'll BF and she falls back to sleep.  Take my shower get ready for work, get things ready for the sitter.  I'm usually finished by 6:45 and she's awake again.  I get her changed and washed off, feed again and she's back to sleep by 7:30 when the sitter arrives.

I get home around 5:30 if she hasn't been feed I will BF.  She will usually try and sleep a little around 7-7:30ish.  I only let her sleep a hour or so this late.  I start bath time a 9, bottle after bath usually in bed 10-11ish.  Depends if she fights me =)

  • In the evenings I make sure all our clothes for the next day are ready (mine, DD, DS) and ironed. We take baths, showers the night before. I get DD's bottles ready and lunches made the night before as well.

In the morning my alarm goes off at 5:30AM. If DD hasn't nursed yet, I feed her. Get up and get myself ready. DH gets up around 6 and gets DS ready. When I'm dressed, made-up, etc I get DD up and get her dressed. I pack the last minute stuff (bottles in the diaper bag, lunches from fridge, etc) and we're out the door by 6:30AM.

  • I get up around 5:30am (6 if I'm exhausted) and get myself dressed/ready to go, check emails (I have a side business along with my FT job, so I need some time to respond to those clients), clean up the kitchen from any bottles/late night dishes, make the hubby lunch and tidy up the house if needed.

I get LO up at 7am, dressed for the day and bottle and we are out the door by 7:30 at the latest. I usually eat something while feeding LO and watch the news.I get to work by 8am where my mom picks up LO (HUGE time saver let me tell you!)

Then I work till 5, pick up LO at 5:30 at my moms.. home by 6ish.  If I need to I run errands on my way home, i do so but try to avoid it if I can.  DH entertains/feeds LO while I cook dinner, clean up, check emails etc.. we eat together while LO hangs out in boppy/bouncer/bumbo and then after dinner DH cleans up, I bathe LO.. then its bottle and bed by 9pm at the latest. I prep anything else that I need to do for next day and off to bed by 11pm.

    And thats our week usually!

  • Today is the first day back to work but this is how things will (hopefully) work when we get into the routine:

5:30/6am: wake up, feed DS, get him ready for daycare, play/quality time with DS
7am: DH drops off at daycare on his way to work; after they leave I shower and get myself ready, take dog for quick walk
    8/8:30am: Leave for work

4:00pm: DH picks DS up at daycare
    5:00pm: I leave work, home by 5:30/6.
7/8:00pm: Bathe DS, feed last bottle (we'll alternate this..one will feed while the other makes dinner)
8:30/9pm: Dinner together, get ready for next day

  • I get up at 5:45am and iron my clothes for work.  Wake DD at 6am and nurse her then hand her off to DH to burp and get her dressed while I shower.  Then she hangs in her bouncy seat while I get dressed/dry hair/put on makeup etc. and DH showers then too.  I'm usually out the door by 7:15am.  DH is a teacher, so right now he stays at home with her.  Once the school year start back up, our morning routine will change a little - we'll need to be up earlier so that I can drop DD off at my mom's house in the morning as she will be taking care of her.

In the evenings - I leave work at 5 and am home between 5:30-6pm depending on traffic.  I nurse DD when I get home, then DH and I have dinner while DD sits in her bouncy seat on the kitchen table with us - we try to keep her involved in mealtime.  After dinner, if it is bath night, we give DD a bath and get her into her pjs (if not bath night, we just put her in her pjs).  Then we all play until about 8pm when DD starts to get sleepy.  I nurse her again and she usually drifts off to sleep either while I am nursing her or while I am burping her. She is in bed for the night between 8:30pm-9pm.
