Who has not felt baby?

Yea, I can't be sure if some of the movement is baby or still gas.

Doc said with this being my first pregnancy, I will feel flutters but won't actually feel the kicks and punches until 20-21 weeks. I'll be 20 weeks on Wednesday so I'm hoping by then I could feel something!

Anyone else as far along as I am and not sure about feeling baby????

Re: Who has not felt baby?

  • I was seriously just thinking the same exact thing! I have felt nothing so far and honestly it is making me nervous. We have our anatomy scan tomorrow so i will feel better when I get to see LO moving around. I just hope I get to feel something soon.

  • Don't be nervous if you don't feel much yet. Even at my 20 week appointment my midwife said she doesn't expect me to feel the baby yet, or at least that I might not. You will soon though and you'll know it! :)
  • I posted something very similar to this a couple weeks ago.  I still feel the same way :(  Not feeling anything out of the ordinary.  But I really do not know what I should be expecting.  I haven't really felt any "flutters" either though.  Just turned 20 weeks today!! Looking forward to feeling some real movement soon!!
  • I only started feeling real, obvious movements the past week and a half or so.  Before then there were times that I thought I might be feeling the baby but wasn't sure.  But this week the movements have been much more obvious!  Hang in there, I'm sure you'll feel movement soon.

  • I didn't feel my first movement until the day I was 21 weeks.  I was getting so antsy!!  But now I know it's her, and I feel her daily.

  • Don't worry too much about it.  I still don't know if some of the feelings I get are kicks or something else also.  My OB said that it's great that you may feel something now, but nothing will be definitly and consistant till about 26 weeks.
  • Thanks! It does make me nervous but since the Doc said 20-21 weeks I've been trying to hang out for as long as I can. hah

  • I think I might have felt baby move a little, but I'm not sure.  Someone in another post (last week or the week before?) described it well - it's like popcorn popping in your stomach.  I've felt a few little pops that could have been baby and I've felt like twitches/flutters that could have been movement too, but I'm not sure.  I haven't felt a definite kick yet, but I'm hoping sometime soon!

  • I think I'm just now starting to feel the baby. For me it doesn't feel like bubbles/butterflies/gas or anything like that. My baby @ the doc's office has always been kind of lazy and does lots of stretching when the doc pushes on my abdomen to get him moving (we've had ultrasounds for each appt).  So for me that's more of what I feel, kind of like a pressure/stretch in the middle/lower abdomen that goes away after a couple minutes kind of like he's turning over from side to side. No punches or kicks yet, and these  I've only felt in the last 2 days.

  • I think I have felt little things here and there but still no 100% sure it isn't gas. Still waiting for that defined kick and knowing for sure and constant movement. We had our anatomy scan last Friday though so I feel better after seeing the baby and knowing all is well.
  • I've felt all kinds of things, but I don't know if any of them are the baby. At our u/s, she was moving all over and kicking like crazy, so I'm not too worried.  I asked my midwife when I should start feeling her, and was told that it depended on my nervous system.  My mom told me that she couldn't feel me or my sisters for a long time too.  Now though, I can touch my abdomen and feel it go from softer to rock hard, like my LO is pushing back.
  • I haven't had any obvious movement yet. I have had a couple "was that something?" moments.  I have anterior placenta though, so I'm not sure if I'll feel anything obvious for a couple more weeks yet.

This is the same for me- ditto on the anterior placenta. I feel little pops and bumps here and there (a few times a day), but nothing has been obvious or consistent!

    Maybe soon? I hope!
