Admittedly dumb question but...

Does your LO need teeth before starting BLW? I read an earlier post about foods to give your LO and I want to start Ella this week but I am not sure about teeth. TIA!

    No. Their gums are really hard (has your LO ever chomped on your fingers?).

    Nope!  LO has been eating "table foods" for two months now and LOOOOVES it!  She has absolutely no teeth  yet.  And yeah, their gums are REALLY hard!!!! lol

    You can actually be glad for no teeth. My boy has teeth and it makes it easier for him to bite off big chunks (we've been doing BLW since just before the teeth so I know there's a difference). He then gags on the big chunks. It's a problem.

    I agree.  We started before Ophelia had any teeth and now that she has a tooth she can take much bigger bites which she can gag on.  She just spits the big bites out but still...
