3rd Trimester

OMG, the fcking itching!

It's killing me! The last two weeks have been pure torture for my stomach. Nothing helps! Oils, Eurcerin Itch Relief, cocoa butter, nothing...

I've put Bio-Freeze on there sometimes and the cooling sensation helps for a few minutes.  My feet are so itchy, too. I was freaking out that maybe I had ICP or something, lol. I'm sure that I don't, and have to remember that I'm stretched beyond belief and my feet are so swollen, why wouldn't they itch.

Ahh, 13 more days. Anyone else?

  • I've started getting itchier lately too. I still have a ways to go, so I know it's only going to get worse!

  • A few days ago my whole body itched so bad. I got some Aveeno bath stuff in a blue and tan bottle at wal-mart and added it to a luke warm bath. It worked wonders. I cant remember off the top of my head exactly what the bottle says on it but its tan and has blue writing that says shower and bath oil I think.

  • I have a mild case of PUPPs and I use aquaphor.  It seems to help better than other lotions, butters and oils.  I also take Claritin.

  • I can't stand the itching & I have way more than 13 days left!  I find it's worst at night...when I'm busy during the day, I don't notice as much.

  • my stomach itched to the point of pain and was red and white blotchy. my doctor told me to take claritin. It totally worked. I tried Eucerin and Aveeno anti itch creams but it was the claritin that really did the trick.

  • To the girl with PUPPS - I feel your pain!  I had severe PUPPS with my last pregnancy and two years later I still have the scars - literally.  I wanted to shoot myself.

The only thing that I found really helped was buckthorn seed oil, from the health food store.  It didn't stop the itching but it definitely took the edge of and made life bearable.  PUPPS will get progressively worse day by day so give it a try.  Also, avoid the Aveeno oatmeal bath.  It stung my skin so badly I was crying.

  • Ask your doctor about PUPPS.  I had it, and although rare, it just got worse after I delivered - needed steroids to get rid of it, although that was an extreme case. Try Sarna lotion.  But definitely talk to your OB.
  • My neighbor swears  by oil of olay night cream.  I have some on hand should it start.

Im glad I came back to look at this post!! I almost bought the Aveeno bath stuff today! Im glad I didnt or I would not have been a happy camper!

    Thanks for the heads up!

  • I've been itching the lower part of my belly for the past two weeks, mostly at night. I had red hives that now turned brown and feel rough. I spoke to my OB about this and she said to use an over-the-counter cortizone cream. It's been helping for the past few days!

  • my belly has been SUPER itchy the last two days. belly and back and arms..pretty much all over lol. i scratched my belly so much in my sleep i woke up and it was raw in some places :( i'm gonna have to put baby mitts on. lol
  • My boobs have been itching SO BAD!! I've tried every kind of lotion and we don't have a bath and my skin has never done well with the oatmeal bath anyways. I take claritin and I still itch really bad :( I feel your pain. Let me know if you find anything that works!!
  • OK so this is my first time posting and just have to say that I have a severe case of PUPPPS and NOthing I have done in the last 3 - 4 weeks has helped much.  I was perscribed hydrocortizone 1% and benadryl and didnt help.  I tried rubbing cornstarch all over and nope, I even tried ice which does help but only for so long.  The best thing that I just found out over the weekend is Aveeno with Oat and taking an oatmeal bath.  I can go 3/4 of the day with out itching.  Believe me when I tell u this is not a fun thing to have.  I have been in tears for the last few weeks and only have 20 more days to go.  I at times didnt think I would be able to get through the rest of this pregnancy with out going CRAZY!!! Good luck to everyone out there.
