So anyone besides me who has kept this pregnancy mum?

I feel like I'm going to be one of the last March mommies to announce her pregnancy! I was really thinking of announcing today because there is a family gathering (my side of the family). But DH says that he wants to tell his parents right after too....but I'd rather tell everyone in person and not over the phone.

Anyone else keeping this pregnancy a secret so far?

Another big reason to keep this pregnancy a secret is because I want to have my 1st u/s which is not for another 2 weeks! Then after seeing everything is ok...then I'll let loose and announce away!

We haven't told anyone. I'm trying to wait until we are out of the first trimester. It's hard though - it is killing me that I can't tell my mom for 6 more weeks! We also have some friends that are expecting, and I'd love to let them know that we are too, but we both really want to wait.

Top secret over here. And I have no plans to tell anybody for quite some time - maybe end of sept unless I start to show early this pregnancy

i told work mates almost right away. but i will be waiting to "show" our families and friends in the USA at ~20 weeks. that is a long time to keep a secret, but living across the planet helps!

We told our families right away since they were such good comfort when we lost the baby before but other than family we are keeping it quiet. We have a few sets of friends who are also expecting and its been hard to not tell. I did tell one close friend and DH told one, and the one I told had just found out she is expecting so she told me and she says she hasnt even told her family yet. I don't know how yall can go without telling anyone or at least your family, I guess it may come with having a loss. We want to know that we will have support of people that will be grieving with us in case it happens again and we want to be able to celebrate this one everyday b/c we didn't do that the first time around and I think we really missed out.

We're telling our families this Saturday. Our first dr's appointment is on the 18th, so friends and co-workers will find out after that.

DH and I have told one friend each and are waiting to tell family until after SS gets home from visiting his mom. It's another 3 weeks so I'll almost be out of first tri, but really it's because we want SS to be the first in the family to know. We'll let him tell ILs (they're local) and then when my parents come to visit for Labor Day we'll let him tell them (14 weeks by then!). It's hard not to tell my mom, but it's not something I want to tell by phone. Also, as soon as our families know the entire world will know and we're just not ready for that! I probably won't tell work until I'm showing and someone figures out I'm pregnant not just getting fat.

We have waited thus far... but are telling our families today! I'm a little nervous letting the cat out of the bag but its a perfect family gathering and we have a cute idea how we're telling them. Wish us luck!

Ditto this. We are waiting until after my u/s in a week and a half. It sucks because we both feel like we've seen all our family and close friends in the past few weeks and it's been very hard not to tell. We have a family dinner tonight...I hope I don't get waves of nausea all night!

We've only told 2 friends and I told a few co-workers... who noticed my looking green every morning. We're not going to tell our parents until after our u/s- Aug 16.. I want to wait to tell my mom near her birthday (Sept 4) because all those cute ideas to tell people (picture frames, etc.) would be more of a surprise if it was a gift-giving occasion already. Just my thoughts.

With our first pregnnacy (ended in m/c) we announced right away but we made a deal to not tell until im 14 weeks just to be sure we are completely out of 1st tri.

If all goes well with our u/s on Thursday, we may tell our parents next weekend. I will be 10 weeks. I am planning on keeping it a secret from the rest of our family and friends until we are into second tri. My two best friends already know.

There are only about 4 people besides DH and I that know. We are waiting until our NT scan to tell everyone. So probably about the end of August.

I see some people's reasons for waiting, but I just couldn't. I told my mom, dad, in laws, and two best friends the day I took the pregnancy test (I was about 4 weeks). I told everyone else (relatives and other friends) at about 6 weeks, I have not talked to my employer yet, but I haven't told anyone who would even talk to my employer, so its not a biggy. I teach school and plan to tell my principal around the end of August, when I am beginning my 2nd trimester. I am not looking forward to that talk since I just switched schools this year and its my first year at the new school. But, for me at least, I didn't see the point in waiting to tell everyone else...my husband wanted to tell people evern more than I did. LOL. I know everyone is different though; I just couldn't wait!

We told family on the day of our first appointment/ultrasound. I was 7 weeks and 3 days. We're waiting to tell friends until after 12 weeks, but we're really looking forward to that!

Still a secret. But we have our first U/S on Tues. and I think we will tell our parents afterwards. It's soooo hard keeping this from my mom! I want to tell her so bad!!

It is so hard to keep a secret! We are waiting until week 12 to tell. 5 1/2 more weeks! But in the meantime, since we found out, my brother's wife announced that she is due with twins in January and my best friend just had her baby last week. Then our parents ask, "so what's new with you", we answer, "not much"... It is so hard! That is why I am so grateful for this board so that I can find out about things and ask the questions... Thanks everyone!

i havent even told DH yet, after a heart breaking m/c, i dont want to risk telling anyone until i'm a little farther along. i plan to tell DH and mum at 8 weeks, and everyone else after the first tri.

Our parents, grandparents, best friends and employers know. We couldn't keep it from them. My father has tried to tell the whole universe, but I had to put the kibosh on that. I'm his only daughter and this is the first baby...

We've decided to make the big announcement to everyone September 1st. That puts us at week 13.
