3rd Trimester

spent yesterday afternoon in maternity triage

thought my water broke.  turned out that i just lost my mucus plug and some fluid was released from behind it when it came out.  sorry if that is TMI!

totally embarrassing to explain to people that you were wrong about your water breaking though.  talking about your mucus plug with friends and family is gross.  why are people so interested in pregnancy details?  do they really want to know about this stuff???  why would one ask, "if it wasn't your water breaking, what was it?"

Re: spent yesterday afternoon in maternity triage

  • Don't worry.  At 37 weeks I thought my water broke, but nope, apparently the baby kicked my bladder and I peed.

Feel free to check out my blog for the full story.  But yep, embarrassing things happen...oh joy.

  • I did the same thing two days ago! Spent four hours there bc i thought my water broke but nothing. They confirmed i was having contractions though. Not effacted or dialated. Not going back there unless i know its the real thing. seeing women experiencing the "real" thing freaked me out.
  • Happened to me last week! Thought my water broke, had no cramps (was contracting but not feeling anything according to the nurse) they couldn't find any amniotic fluid in the swabs they did so we are guessing I must have peed myself! How embarrassing lol
