Friend's baby shower today

Today is my friend's baby shower.  I didn't go.  Sometimes I feel bad for not putting on my big girl panties and just going, but other times I feel justified in not going.  When I told her I couldn't go I broke down crying and she said she understood, but I still feel bad.

Any thoughts on this?  Any of you actually regret going if you did?

    If she's a good friend she'll understand....at least not be angry (since most people don't really understand if they haven't gone thru it)

    I've been declining baby showers like crazy. Don't feel bad.

     

    Showers are boring anyway.

    I've probably been on The Bump longer than you have.

    I actually have one that starts in about an hour and I am not going.  I was planning on it but just found out this last week that our first round of IVF didn't work.  I kind of felt bad about not going, but if she doesn't understand that I just can't be around everything baby right now then my thought is she isn't that good of a friend.  I would say stay home and enjoy yourself and don't worry about it.
