My water just broke...

I feel silly asking this now, but about how long after the water breaks does it take until delivery? I know everyone is different, but are there any averages? The reason I ask is b/c my contractions went from 8 minutes apart to 3-5 minutes apart and go much more intense.

I'm sure you figured this out by now, but most Drs. like to have babies delivered within 24 hours of your water breaking. Our hospital says to come in when contractions are 5 min apart OR as soon as your water breaks.
