I saw someone had terra cotta pots and had their daughter make handprint caterpillars on them with paint. Red handprint for face and green for the body then inside made fruit skewers standing out of them (like edible arrangements) with one strawberry and the rest grapes to look like the hungry caterpillar. I was thinking about doing the same thing but with watermelon balls instead of strawberries
Found the website! Its a few pictures down. If I end up doing it I'll put the handprints upside down so his fingers are like legs and the palm of his hand is the body of the caterpillar

At my baby shower, there were several small round cakes (fondant covered) and each was decorated as a piece of fruit with a whole through it like in the book.
