We have a barn cat! I caught it running under the barn door as I was pulling in the driveway. And, it's either REALLY well fed for a barn cat, or we will soon have a barn litter.
SQUEE!

I've started leaving food by the barn door in an attempt to lure her out.
I'm hoping that I can catch mama before there are kittens and get her to the vet.

Sounds good. I didn't mean to poop on your happiness, and I know you bear no responsibility for this one cat being pregnant. I just hate to think of newborn kittens with nowhere to go.

No problem! DH is more worried that they will all become indoor cats. lol
All of our pets have been rescues, so I wouldn't dream of letting them be homeless. Although, the idea of a barn cat (and no more barn mice) is pretty appealing.

If you really want to get her to the vet before she has the kittens, you can try a live trap, like they type you use to capture raccoons and things without killing them. Not sure it will work, but it may be worth a shot. Call animal control - ours in town allows you to rent live traps for like $4 a day.
