they had a party at a pizza place so we got to meet everyone. there's a gal with a son 2 mos older than mine with a similar limb difference. it will be nice for him to know some people who look a little bit like he does.
Always nice to have others who you can talk to who know what it is like. Just wanted to tell you that I had a teacher in HS with what looks like a similar limb difference as your son. He was a music teacher and could play the piano with his shorter limb! We as students always looked up to him. Very successful and is now a principal in the same district.

Both boys were born w/ hirschsprung's disease, you find yourself facing this dx, please feel free to ask me any questions.
My nephew was just born without a right forearm or hand. We know that he is going to be okay, and are so grateful that he is healthy. It is still hard not to worry about problems and hardships in his future. I am glad you found a support system. We need to look into that.
That's great! I agree that it will be beneficial for your son to have some friends with limb differences similar to his. We're going to the War Amps conference in a couple of months and we are so excited to meet some other families like ours. (War Amps is an organization for child amputees here in Canada).
That is fantastic that you got together with other families!! We have yet to do that, but I'm looking forward to the day that we do. Seeing other children growing up and doing just fine is so encouraging. I have no doubt that our beautiful children are going to be awesome and already are awesome!
That's great. I think it's good to have them around other kids that are like them too. It can only help them in the long run on how to do different things and know that there are people out there just like them.
How did you find the group? I'd love to get involved in something like that in our area but have no idea where to look... My DD is 12 months and was born without her left hand.
