More than one converstion kit?

DH went to pick-up our changing table/dresser (crib is still on order) and he asked about purchasing the conversion kit for our crib.  Apparently there is more than one?  After some research there is one to convert from crib to toddler bed and a separate one to convert from crib to full-size bed?

Is this typical?

    At least for ours the conversion 'kit' for the toddler bed was just the bed rail.  The full size bed kit was the rails and that was sold separately.  We didn't buy either at the time we bought the crib and I really regret it.  Our crib is still sold at BRU but the matching toddler bed rail is not.  We found a universal one that works but it doesn't look as nice as it should.
