It's been building really bad lately. Yesterday one of my close friends at work confided she was 8 weeks PG and I am sooooo excited for her. I find myself missing being PG. I can't believe I am saying that. WTH is wrong with me?
I feel like things are finally getting easier and more manageable now that LO is one.....can't believe we are considering doing it again so soon. We must be insane.
Re: I've got the fever
I am right there with you but I am crazier..um hello..we also have a FOURTEEN YEAR OLD!!! AND we live in a rowhome. But if we wait until we move, Chris will be graduating high school then it will just be too late.
So who knows.
Aww a new group for the playgroup because I think Kathryn is on the same lines as us. Kathryn..chime in!
Hey at least your son is old enough to help out! That is a plus.
The voice is telling me to just have them close together and be done with it.
OMG - shut up!!!
Yes - I have the fever! I thought I might have gotten PG on vacation the other week - which was totally not planned, not agreed to, etc. and I was kind a freaking out about it, but then I got AF last week and I was a little disappointed.
DH and I were talking/joking around about a month ago about more kids/siblings for Ella, something and straight up asked me if I wanted another kid and I said yes, and he never really said yes, but as we've been talking about this whole budgeting thing he's been talkign about paying for daycare for LO#2, etc., so he's on board. I don't think I'm ready right now, but I think I want to start trying around E's 2nd birthday in December. Watching E interact w/ older kids, I see how much she needs a companion and how much easier it will make my life in the long run. The early part will suck - AGAIN - but I think by the time LO #2 is 1 year it'll all be good again.
Can I jump in on this post. Because I need to raise my hand to the baby fever! I don't even have a one year old. I told Tim yesterday and asked me if I needed to lay down. LOL! Seriously he must think I'm mental. LOL!
But we have talked about it and we at least want one more child. But when that happens, I'm not sure. I just need to get Annabelle to two years old (Tim's plan!). Hopefully I can hold off a year and few months.
LOL - we all need a night w/a 3 day old baby. .. . that will cure the fever!!
Actually, I think for us, when Ella is 3ish will be perfect for us. Right now she's so much fun, but I can feel the terrible 2's coming soon and I figure in another few months I'll be mostly immune to it.
alright cut it out ladies. . .you are starting to scare me! lol Just kidding. I'm sure it is going to be tough in the beginning but what doesn't kill me will just make me exhausted or is it stronger?
Spend a night with a three year old and feel like I am feeling right now. I am sure a lot of people feel this way but right now I don't want to go through another pregnancy feeling this way.
Right now I am working on a 5 day migraine. UGH!
My first couple months were terrible! I developed a bloot clot after having my son, and then developed one 12 weeks pregnant with Ava (and had to give myself shots the remainder of the pregnancy)--I also had terrible MS with both. If I get pg again, I will have to start the shots immediately which stinks. I'm sure I'll be sick again as well. I'd like to get pregnant in Dec/Jan because having my first trimester (both of them) being sick in the heat was the worst.
Kathryn, hopefully you'll be lucky and have the same good luck with your second pregnancy.
My 2nd pregnancy was easier than my first- we gave into the fever when DD was around 16 or 17 months old? As soon as we were out of the 2 under 2 territory we went for it.
I was really nervous about DD regressing and taking her sweet time to use the potty w/ a little baby in the house, but she has been great for the most part and basically potty-trained herself when DS was 1.5-2 months old. It worked out well because it's not like I was going a lot of places w/ the 2 of them and DS eating every 2 hrs, etc.
Butting in - I'll help remind you all of the early days: last night, DS decided he wanted to party from 1 am - 3 am. Happy as a clam, but wide awake as can be! Finally got him down at 3 am, laid down in bed, and at 3:14 he started to cry. FML.
I made DH get out of bed to see if he just needed a diaper change, but 20 minutes later, he started to scream, so I got out of bed, took him from DH, popped a binky in his mouth and started to jiggle and "shh" him, and he was out cold 30 seconds later. GAHHHHH.
And, of course, 3 hours later, he was up and ready to eat again! Luckily he went back to sleep until 10 after just barely waking up to eat at 6:30... but still.
There - did that help w/the fever?
(And FWIW, DH and I have already discussed when we want to start trying for #2 - we're thinking of starting after DS's first birthday at the end of next June. It took me all of a week after delivery to get to the point of saying, "okay, I could do this again..." - of course, the first week after delivery I was swearing I couldn't/wouldn't do pregnancy/labor/delivery again. Mom amnesia FTW on that one, anyone? Even w/the ungodly swelling, food aversions, carpal tunnel, and weeks of all-day nausea, I do miss being pregnant, and I'm looking forward to pregnancy #2!)
... every single day of forever.
This post made me LOL....I remember coming on TN when Sean was like 2 weeks old and writing a post titled "To Those of You With Baby Fever" or something lilke that and it was pretty much what you wrote.
I miss walking around 24/7 with that little person punching and kicking me non-stop....that was fun.
Haha - the part I *didn't* add to that post was that last night was particularly rough because we're spoiled by a relatively good sleeper normally. No idea what got into him last night, because we just got over a growth spurt last weekend. Usually, we get 3 consecutive solid stretches of 3-4 hours, where he'll wake up to eat and go right back to bed w/in 20-30 mins. Of course, THAT doesn't sound as bad, so I had to offer up the worst I could to try to "help" with the baby fever.
And yes, I'd have to agree that one of the best parts of pregnancy is feeling baby move!
... every single day of forever.
I remember your post - I just wanted to give you a hug - or come hold Sean for an hour so you could lay down.
My thoughts exactly!
If it wasn't for my job situation/health insurance situation, i'd already be trying for #2. Mine is 12wks old.
I was also the one who said lets get through #1 first and i'm most likely one and done. I secretly wish I was pg again, but I know with the above situations it isn't smart at all.
I'd do it all over again. I wouldn't remind any of you the "bad" stuff, bc to me it wasn't really all that bad. I was ready and knew what it would most likely be like.
Hi guys. It's really hot outside right now in case you didn't know. Like, really hot. Hottest 6 months on record according to the news.
I get to sit around because I don't have any other kids. But y'all do! Are you suuuuure you want to be pregnant.
I'm pretty sure all the moms on here have had kids before and know all about being pregnant. Just saying. And many of the same moms are chasing kids around in this heat.
Oh and one more thing, quit your whining woman. LOL.
Just a friendly reminder that it'd be HARDER for you with little ones running around. I mean, in case you want to be talked out of being pregnant.
Luckily, I don't have to run around. I get to laaaay around.
Moving, a 30 lb 2 year old who doesn't want to walk, a happy but very active and chatty 3 year old, and twins expected in January which will make me an official member of the 4 under 4 crowd. I think I win!
My only complaint despite the heat is a swollen toe which has no explanation.
Two under two is not bad, we survived.
Good luck.
No more baby fever for us!! Four and no more!!
My new favorite phrase!
You know what!! I'll take more heartburn, m/s, insomnia, all of it, I just want to delivery a term baby.
LOL Love it!
I know. ..
BTW Meg - I didn't get the fever until very recently. Now that Ella is so full of energy I see how much kids need siblings and how much she would love to be a big sister and how much a LO would like a big sister. I'm used to life now w/ a LO so I think I'm ready - also we need the time to be able to pay for daycare for #2.
Bring her over my house for Daddy Daycare..lol. (well, just Tues and Wed's!)
I like to think I helped give you the fever!
I have to admit, I want #3, not for a while, but DS has grown at warp speed, I feel like I didn't get enough itty-bitty baby time.
you know me too well! I saw very screechy little baby on the train this morning and couldn't stop looking at him and smiling. I love the idea of big sister/little brother too!
um, you did your part in giving me the fever. When I saw tiny snuggly Davis @ playgroup....OMG! MUST.HAVE.ONE
