XP from BFing board - spicy foods?

We made a bunch of meals and froze them before DS came, one being chicken enchiladas. We are going to eat one of those tonight, but my mom looked at me like I had three heads when I said that. She said I should avoid spicy foods this early in case it upsets DS. I thought we would just figure out if it bothers him when I eat it, and it wouldn't make a difference when the first time I eat it is?

Should I eat lasagna tonight instead? Or is my mom crazy cakes?

It'll get better. After the first couple of weeks you'll feel way more confident and get your own sort-of routine going.

I have no idea (obvi). But do you have like a nurse line or anything w/ either your doc or insurance? You know my job and we have one that anyone can call or get online and communicate with for things like that - might not hurt. I mean who wants to miss enchiladas if they don't have to!

Also, I wanted to say I totally understand your no photo thing, the world is full of nutty people. However - he does appear to have really cure little feet, you could post those :P

Well hello lovah. I say eat the enchiladas - if it bothers him you can avoid it from now on. Henry was never affected by spicy/gassy foods so maybe you'll get lucky. I hope all is well! I miss you

I mostly lurk, but thought I'd pitch in. I ate whatever (dairy, spicy, etc.) with the intention of adjusting if it disagreed with LO. I was fortunate and didn't need to restrict my diet though.

Awesome, thanks girls! I will try them and see what happens, and just not eat them again if need be.

Kayash - I could call the hospital and ask but the LC only works weekdays, and I was given conflicting advice regarding BFing from the regular nurses while I was there. I'd rather just talk to the LC directly. So I figured I would turn to moms who might know here :-) And I will def try to take some cute feet pics :-P

You'll have to try it once to see if it upsets him. Spicy foods didn't bother DS but tomatoes did, but now he eats tomatoes for a snack, so who knows. lol. Weird things set them off, but you won't know until you try it.
