I ended up settling on a name that I like but don't love and I figured I would end up loving it once she was here but I still regret not giving her the name that really spoke to me (which dh hated, we could agree on anything to save our lives). I feel so guilty for not being head over heals about it, anyone else feel the same way?
Re: Is anyone not in love with LOs name?
I like LO's name...I don't regret it, but I just can't quite identify her with the name yet, if that makes sense. I wish we could wait six months to have a legal name.
And I still hate that it is so popular. And no one can pronounce Isolde.
I kind of have the opposite problem. I named my son Maack (pronounced Mack) because it was my maiden name. People don't '"get it" usually though. . They either think I said Max or Matt. . and when they do understand me, they ask me his full name. . . It is already getting annoying and he's only 4 weeks!
Ive liked the name Isolde since the movie Tristan and Isolde came out. I even named my rabbit Tristan after the movie lol. If we got a female her name would be Isolde
Ive already had two people from our hospital survery people call and ask for the parents of "Bryan" I am like you mean BRYNN! They almost always gt embarrased, but come on now! Learn to read.
Me, but I promised my husband when we had DS that if he let me name DS he could name the next one. I like her name for the most part...it's just going to take me a while to love it!
Maybe that's it, maybe I'm just not identifying with it yet. I generally just refer to her by some goofy nick name so maybe Harper just isn't who she is to me quite yet.
I love DD's name, but not so in love with the spelling. It was a compromise... I was the bigger fan of the name, so I let Dh choose the spelling. I don't hate it though...
Harper is a lovely name.
Not popular to me...the only Isolde I think of is from the movie "Tristan and Isolde"...I like it a lot AND I can pronounce it....well I think I can..is-old, right??? Or is it ees-old?
I like it.
We have a Harper, too, but he's a boy. :-) I'm not in love with the fact that it's becoming a popular girl's name but I think it fits for girl or boy and I am absolutely in love with his name. As soon as we decided on his name when I was pregnant he was 'Harper'. Not baby or little one, but Harper, so for us it is his identity.
I went to middle school with a girl named Brielle and I LOVED her name. If our last name didn't sound so funny with it I would keep in on the list for a DD
