How do you gals feel about..

The boy name Holden?

Love the book Catcher in the Rye and DH and I are very avid readers...

We like the name for several reasons, but DH seems to think it could come across as somewhat snooty..

All opinions/suggestions welcome.

Middle name would either be Marcus or Alexander..

    It sounds soap opera-ish to me. I don't hate it, but it won't be on my list either.

    If you use it, I like Holden Alexander together.

    It's ok. I don't think it comes off snooty but I like surnames for first names.

    I like it (and love Salinger's work) and I don't think it sounds snooty. I definitely wouldn't have thought of a soap opera either!

    Don't love it but don't hate it. My cousin named her lil guy Haden which I think I like a bit better but either one is nice.

    I like it alot. I'm a big fan of Catcher in the Rye too so that would be my first association with the name. I don't think it sounds too snooty. I think Marcus or Alexander would be great middle names too.

    I like it a lot! Either middle names work too! (I also lived in the dorm Holden for 2 years in college!)

    I really like it. I wouldnt use it...because I know its not my husbands style.

    but I think of michael holden from army wives. ha

    my choice is Holden Alexander (that sounds great!)

    Holden Alexander is cute.  But Holden Caufield IS crazy, but I like CITR too

    I love this name (I'm not typically a fan of the "-den" names, but this one feels classic to me).  Unfortunately, our last name sounds almost exactly like Caufield (Holden's last name in the book, for those who aren't familiar), so that was a turn off.  Otherwise, I'd use it!

    I like the name Holden especially when it is paired with Alexander.

    love Holden. I worked with a little kid who's brother's name was Holden and he called him "Ho Ho" because he couldn't say  Holden- so cute!
