Breastfeeding

when your away from LO

I start school in a month and my LO will be going to daycare with my other daughters while im at class. I was wondering how much breastmilk do you send to daycare with your LO while your at work/school?

I use the 2.5 oz per pound rule (gives you total recommended consumption for the day, then just divide by the number of feedings).  DS is about 13 lbs, and feeds about 6 times/day so we send about 5.5 oz per bottle, and he gets 2 bottles while I'm at work.  So. the short answer is 11 oz.

Some of those kids in DD's daycare class were downing 2 full 8 oz bottles or more .  I have no idea how they took in that much. DD never drank more than 4 - 5 oz at a time when she was a baby, so we'd usually either send about 15 oz, or I would feed her on my lunch break and just send about 8 - 10 oz.  She was older when she went to daycare, though and started solids shortly thereafter.
