Cooking question from SIL

What the helll is light cream?

Half and Half?

She's making quiche and noticed the recipe called for light cream.  I told her I'd just use regular cream and it would be fine (which is what she did) but now I'm curious.

Re: Cooking question from SIL

  • There is heavy cream and light cream.  Not sure where the confusion lies.

  • I don't think I've ever seen light cream before!  I'l blame it on the tiny market I shop at and the fact that I rarely buy cream.

Yep.  It is in the dairy section next to the whipping creams.  A heavy cream with make the quiche too dense and possible make it tough.
