Specifically ankylosing spondilytis (sp??)... what a darn mouthful, huh?
As you may have guessed, I have that and have been taking methotrexate on and off for about 2 years? Still not TTC, but planning to start in 2011 (hubby's finally on board-yay!). I've read a lot about it and it sounds like women with RA are able to conceive and have happy & healthy children. But it would be comforting to hear first hand experiences.
If you are in the same boat and are TTC or have had children already, (and are willing to share), what were you experiences? How was it going off the meds for so long? Did you have complications related to RA?
Thanks and happy Friday!!
Re: XP: Anyone TTC with RA?
DH has RA and was on Meth. He was taking it for about 1.5 years. We started TTC and got BFP on our first cycle. He was off it only a few months.
A co-worker was worried that it would affect her fertility and got pregnant a few cycles after getting off of it. She just gave birth to DD #2 on Monday. Not sure how long she was taking the medication.
Everyone is different. I wouldn't stress out.
I have RA. I don't have your specific issue though. It took me 4 cycles to get pregnant with DS. I had low fluid which the OB thinks was because of RA. It resulted in an early induction (36 weeks) but other than that is was pretty uneventful. No other problems during pregnancy.
Good luck to you.
Thanks for sharing
Runnergirl - My husband is running the philly marathon in November! How do you run with RA??? That's awesome! I've tried a few times but my knees and ankles can't seem to take it.
