DH's dad is getting married next week to his girlfriend of 10 yrs. They have been engaged for 3 years and decided a month ago to get married next week because DH's grandmother is ill and FIL wants her to be there. It is VERY low key in the sense they are getting married by a JP and the 'reception' part is in a function room of a local yocal bar.
What should we give for a gift? Usually when I go to weddings we stick cash/check in a card and that is what we give. I feel funny giving his dad a check for $150 for a gift but cannot think of what else to give.
Thanks for any ideas you can give!
Re: NBR: Wedding gift for FIL
It would definitely be weird to give parents cold, hard cash.
What about a gift certificate to a fancy restaurant in their area or to a B&B? Or maybe you could buy a nice, collage frame and put in some photos of the two of them, some pictures of them with you, and then save a couple of open slots for wedding photos.
