Baby shower gifts

Hey ladies!!  My baby shower is next week-end and I have no clue what to do for hostess gifts - my 2 sisters and a dear friend.  Also did you get anything for your parents??  Any ideas or what you did pls. pass this way!!  Thanks!!

    I didn't give any gifts and until someone posted about it, I hadn't even thought to do it.  I did handwrite thank you cards to the hostesses of my showers.  My mom didn't host either of the showers but was a big part of both, so I wrote her a nice little note also.

    I am doing something impersonal kinda...Of course I write notes.  I gave my mom and sister giftcards.

    For my 2nd shower, I am giving giftcards to each host to the coffee bean.

    My friend gave me last year a handmade glass dish (she made it) -when I hosted her baby shower.  I wish I had time to put more thought in it than just giftcards.

    I've always gotten thank you notes when I've hosted showers (bridal/baby) and I've never expected any type of gift, so maybe this is a regional thing.  I would far more appreciate a written note or even a special visit, outing, girls day out, than an actual gift.  Homemade gifts are a good idea if you really want to give a gift.  But that's just me.  Big Smile

    My baby shower is tomorrow.  I don't plan on getting any gifts for the hostesses as I've never gotten anything.  I think it might be just a regional type thing.  I do plan on giving thank you cards though and verbally expressing my thanks over and over.  :)

    Maybe it's a regional thing. Around here (NY/NJ/CT), it's pretty common. I got my sister the hostess some Burt's Bees products and a photo frame that says " I <3 My Aunt".
