This week, DS has learned to roll from back to tummy, and he is doing it when we put him in his crib at night. Last night he rolled onto his tummy in his crib and got his leg between some slats in the crib and couldn't roll back. So, we got out the bumper that goes with his bedding set and put it on. I know you aren't supposed to use bumpers with younger babies, but he is almost 6 months. Can we stick with this one, or should I buy a breathable one? There is a ceiling fan in his room that is always running, if that makes a difference.
Thanks!

This exactly! Stella moved to her crib at 3 months and has the regular bumper in there the whole time.
Eliza recently got her leg stuck too, so we decided to go with the breathable bumper. We decided on that one versus the padded one for a few reasons:
1. She loves to smoosh her face into soft things and I didn't want her pressing her face against the bumper while sleeping - although now she just buries her face in the crib mattress instead
2. I have read that once they start pulling up, they can use the bumper to climb and possibly flip themselves over the rail. The breathable one specifically says it is collapsible.
This! We moved Paige to her crib at 6 months and had regular bumpers in there. Not something I worry about.
