Oh boy, I guess this is his new funny thing to get a rise out of Mummy! I was holding him (in public at an outdoor concert, no less), and he was being silly, and all of a sudden he put his hands on my neck and kind of squeezed. Of course I reacted "Cal, what are you doing? That's silly!" (with a smile, trying to be lighthearted.) Which just made him want to keep doing it. Finally I used the "gentle touches" tactic, which worked for a second, but then he was back to wanting to have his hands around my neck. He barely squeezed, but still. Um, weird. Especially in public.
Ah...kids! Tell me, has YOUR toddler ever done that???
Re: Uh, Cal tried to strangle me...
I'm sorry to hear it! But glad for my sake, because now I know my kid's not secretly crazy.

Life is beautiful!
at least he didn't slap you in front of your MIL and her family!!
you can imagine the gasp and questions (who taught her that?) ugh
of course I got so upset ..started wondering yeah ..where did she learn this? is someone slapping her?? no no no..it is totally normal but does have to be addressed properly..still trying to figure that one out
LOL at this post - Jack is an occasional strangler too - it passes the time at the grocery store when he's in his Ergo facing me. I'm sure people think I am a WEIRDO because I say "Oh nooo! Don't strangle me!" and then we both laugh. And then he does it again. He has never hurt me, it is just a game. If he hurt me he'd get the big "That HURTS mommy please don't do that!" speech. Which usually is very effective with my sensitive little man and gets me a sad face and a kiss.
