Jury summons

I came home from vacation with jury summons and immediately filled out the paperwork requesting to be excused. How do I know if I've been excused? Do I just call in the day before?

Sorry the last time I got jury summons I was 30 weeks pregnant with the boys and my letter from my doctor got me out that time. ;)

Re: Jury summons

  • I *think* you assume you are excused unless you hear otherwise.  At least that is what I have done.  Tongue Tied  If you have a kid(s) that you are the primary caretaker for, I don't think they can force you to find other means...

Ok that's what I thought but wasn't too sure. I did request an excuse being I'm a SAHM and that jury was during their school time and I am the one who takes them to and from all that. We'll see...maybe I will call in just in case. I'm kinda paranoid of them losing the paperwork and sending out a warrant.

  • Your in CC County, right?

I would call, just to put your mind at ease.  I did when I got my jury summons during my maternity leave.

Yes, I am--thanks, I think I will in another week just in case. Wink I seem to remember that I did that when I was preggo with the boys and they couldn't tell me if I was excused or not from my medical note. In any case, I was on bedrest at the time so I didn't even attempt another phone call much less drag my hugeness over to Hayward. Wink
