I bought mine in April, 2007. Used it until around March, 2008, then I stopped until January, 2010, when I began trying to conceive #2. Been using it ever since, and it is still working. I just have a cheapie I bought at Walgreens. It doesn't have a battery compartment that can be opened, so I think the batteries can't be changed. It has definitely lasted far longer than I ever thought it would!

The instructions that came with mine said the battery should last 3-yrs with daily use. Check out your thermometer though, mine is almost impossible to change the battery. Also, the batteries are $4 - $8 depending on what you need, so I decided to just get a new thermometer when/if the time comes.

Re: Poll: How long does your (or a typical) digital BBT battery last?
I bought mine in June 2007. Used it pretty much everyday until November 2008.
Started it up again in January 2010 and used it through June 2010.
Used 23 months total (approximately) over 3 years. Still has the original battery.
