My sister has 3 young step children and 2 natural LOs. The youngest is only 4 months. For financial and 'sanity' reasons they don't want any more.
This weekend at the beach she tells me she needs a pregnancy test
"to see if she can drink." She is worried because a condom broke and her period is late (so far logical but stay with me...)
a) The condom broke and she decided to use Plan B. She she took a pregnancy test the next morning and when it was BFN (phew?), she went and got Plan B.
b) How long before the missed period was the prophylactic accident? ... Ready? 3 days. 3. So yes, five days total have elapsed.
c) She then says she's worried because her periods are clockwork. That is, she adds, they were before the baby. This is only her 2nd cycle after the baby.
::headdesk::
Really? Really? How is it that someone who gets to have a big healthy family can know so little about the way their body works?
I wish that we were all so blissfully unaware!
Re: Oh to be so blissfully unaware (long)
Oh FFS. DId you call her an FH and to STHU? :: Barf :::
I actually think I looked at her like she had two heads and started trying to explain and then she looked at me like I had two heads and so I gave up and left the room and let her continue her FH babble to my other sister before either one of them could make some comment about how I should just relax because then I would have had to punch a b1tch. : )
I completely understand! Good control on your part.

Um, yeah....
You had awesome self control though - I give you mad props for that. I have tried to explain "the way things really work" to people before, but the FH's never get it. Must be nice. ::sigh::

Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
OH FFS...wasn't this covered in fifth grade health class for most people? Really?
...Head hits desk...
Great self-control on your part. I would have blown a gasket.
Wow, good for you for the self control. I think there should be a test to determine if you know enough about how your body works that people have to take before they are allowed to start having sex.
