T&P for my brother and SIL (and new nephew)

I'm getting a new nephew today... my brother's wife is currently in labor and he will probably be born this afternoon. I'm not sure if you guys remember me posting back in April, but their sweet baby boy has HLHS, a rare heart defect where the left side of the heart is severely underdeveloped. They will only get 5-10 minutes with their son before he is taken into the NICU, intubated, and put on a ventilator. He will stay in the NICU until Monday or Tuesday when he will have open heart surgery to essentially re-plumb his tiny heart. and then everyone will be holding their breath as he recovers from surgery over the next several weeks.
It is a joyful, yet very scary week for them and our whole familiy...

Awww, that makes me sad! One of our twins was diagnosed with HLHS. Of course, it never became an "issue" (because they were born before viability due to HELLP), but we did all the research and talking to doctors and etc., and I remember how scary it was. T & P for you all!
Omg how scary. T & Ps to them. I hope everything goes smoothly and the LO recovers quickly so they can be wth him.

Thinking of your nephew. My cousin was born with this. She has definately had to overcome some obstacles in her life, but she is doing well and just celebrated her 18th birthday!
I hope everything goes super smoothly, and he has a swift and uneventful recovery.
