We are having one party for both kids instead of having one for Reed and another one a few weeks later for Penny. Reed got cake on his birthday and we had a little family get together in Nova Scotia...but his party with his friends and family at home will be more people.
Last year I didn't have a big party for Reed's 1st birthday since I was due 6 weeks later with Penny. We had a party but it wasn't the all out affair that most people have....which made me feel like it would be wrong to have a huge party for Penny's 1st.
Still thinking that I will have a splash pad/park party...but what to do for the theme? Any cute ideas since it is for a second and first birthday? and for a boy and a girl???
Reed loves cars and trucks and Penny loves EVERYTHING:)
We don't watch TV so they don't have an interest in any shows/movies.
Re: Party for both kids' birthday questions...
The theme for Miles' first birthday was circles. We had circular food (potato chips, hamburgers, hot dogs, round tortilla chips and salsa, etc.) and I had round multi-colored candy on the tables (skittles, gummie savers, M&Ms, etc.). We had multi-colored balloons, table cloths, etc.
It was really fun and easy to do without feeling an overwhelming theme. Ya know? :-)
Were doing the same thing just having one party for both boys.
Maybe animals and polk a dots....
Monkeys! You can go green or yellow or could do pink for Penny and blue for Reed.
Wilton has really cute monkey pop molds.
Oh, I forgot to respond to your post about photographers, but there is a Toronto Nestie who is a beautiful photographer. I can't remember her Nest name, her real name is Maria and her business is Slice of Life photography. I'm sure you'll recognize her and some of the nesties who have had photos done by her.
Have fun!
Are you friends with TeeVee girl on FB??? She has a great blog (A Few Of My Favorite Things) and on the blog she posted a link to a really cute boy/girl twin party.
The theme was "trucks (or was it cars???) and rainbows." It was super cute!
I can try and find the link and post it later.
Or.......like you said, you could just do a simple polka dot/color party!
There are also cute gender neutral barnyard animal party decorations, monkeys, etc.
GL!
