Recommendations for an RE in metro Detroit

Anyone have a good one that they loved? I am in the process of divorcing my REs from U of M due to them complete morons that fvcked my IVF cycle resulting in disaster. That office is run by fellows (docs specializing in RE) not much experience...

TIA

IVF Michigan. I went to the Rochester office for my 2nd & 3rd IVFs. Their staff aren't exactly the most welcoming and friendly people on earth, but their doctors and embryologists are fantastic. It's run like a typical doctor's office, which means the customer service is very lacking. But the results they get are worth it. (Sart.org posts the success rates of IVF clinics in the Detroit area.) I switched to them from another clinic and I'm SO glad I did. If you'd like more details on them I'd be glad to share my experience there vs the other clinic I cycled at.

  • Go to Dr. Michael Mersol-Barg in Birmingham.  He is fantastic :)

  • I went to Dr. Maria Hayes out of Oakwood Dearborn. I liked her a lot. She doesn't really waste time. Good Luck.

  • From what I've heard from a couple of friends (also bumpies - you can page UMichGirl or OceanBreeze on Trouble TTC for a better response) ... stay away from RMA.

Other than that, I'm participating in a research study out of WSU and I'm being treated at University Women's Care in Southfield. There are 3 RE's at that office. I've had good experiences so far!

  • I also used Dr. Maria Hayes for both of these pregnancies. I was very happy with her knowledge and she has a WONDERFUL office staff!! I also was impressed with Oakwood hospital for some of the procedures I had to have done. Good luck!

  • I used Dr. Gary Jones, who is Dr. Hayes' counterpart in Dearborn at Oakwood Hospital.  I loved him!  The office is nice, and everyone from the nurses to the receptionists are friendly and helpful.  If it's not too far of a drive, I definitely recommend that office.  You can google them under Michigan Comprehensive Fertility Clinic.

  • I also highly recommend Dr. Mersol-Barg.

Hands down, the BEST care I have ever received.

We got PG with our first IUI. My friend's SIL got PG with twin boys during their first IVF with him and a colleague got PG with her son on her first round of IVF with him also.

I have seen a lot of doctors in my lifetime and I cannot say enough great things about him and his staff.

  • If you HAVE to stay local I would say RMA or IVF of Michigan.  But if you have been at this for a while, and depending on the treatments you have gone through, I would highly recommend going out of state to one of these clinics:

    CCRM https://www.colocrm.com/Home.aspx
    ORM https://www.oregonreproductivemedicine.com/
    SDFC https://www.sdfertility.com/

Going out of state is relatively easy so it really should be considered. I have personal experiences at Henry Ford Reproductive Medicine in Troy, RMA, CCRM and ORM.  Please message me if you have ANY questions about the clinics or treatments.  I've done almost everything and have finally found success.  Before you go with a clinic, please check their success rates. https://www.sart.org/find_frm.html#

Firewife92, just wondering why you say to stay away from RMA?

  • I'm glad to see that some of you who go to Dr. Hayes have had successful results.  I don't particularly think that the office staff is friendly AT ALL.  I've been seeing her for about 8 months now and find it very hard to get information out of her.  Hopefully this just means that she is confident!?!
