I've got a long list of results from my CD3 blood tests. Doc says they look pretty good except I think maybe TSH. What is the function of TSH? How does it affect fertility? Here they are if you want to review. If you feel like comparing numbers that would be cool, but I'm way clueless here. I apologize for the long list. -Pix
TSH 3.72, FSH 5.5, Estradiol 62, Prolactin 7.1, DHEA Sulfate 103, testosterone 5, CA125 59 (this was the cancer screen that she said was elevated but not concerning)
Blood type is A+, No antibodies detected in antibody screen
My rebella immune status is poor so my immunization isn't up to date. the thing about that one is if I get immunized now I have to wait a(nother!) month to conceive and if I don't get immunized I roll the dice on catching it while PG and harming or mc-ing.
The CBC section is especially long: white cells 5.0, red 3.93, hemoglob 13.1, hematocrit 38.1, mcv 96.9, mch 33.3 HIGH?, mchc 34.4, rdw 13.7, platelets 209, ab neutrophils 2610, neutrophils 52.2, ab. lymphocytes 1920, lymphocytes 38.4, ab monocytes 315, monocytes 6.3, ab eosinophils 125, easinophils 2.5, ab basophils 30, basophils 0.6
Re: So what do y'all know about bloodtest results?
This should be helpful:

From that, it seems that your TSH number is on the high side. I wish I knew more, but I'm new to it all myself. Good luck!
I'm pretty sure your TSH is your Thyroid levels. If it's too high or too low you may have an autoimmune disease.
I went through the whole Rubella immune thing. I got prgnant the 1st time in '08, I had prenatal blood work done and then the next day I started to m/c. Well my prenatal blood work came back as not being immune to Rubella so I was sent to an infectious diease Dr. He told 'nope, false positive, you're fine...get an vaccine if you want but no need really' At that time I had to wait 3 months before TTC again so no way would I waste those 3 months. It took me two years and an RE to get pregnant again.
If only I knew then what I know now.
Fast forward to June and I decide to volunteer at a hospital. Because I didn't have my vaccination card I had to get tested for MMR...guess what??? it came back as me not being immune. I was PISSED! I had to get a vaccine, per my RE, I had no choice. At the time, I had an urge to go to the infectious diease Dr and tell him what an idiot he was. Anyway, now (thank God) you only have to wait a month. I go for my second shot tomorrow.
I went through the same thing you did (do I get and not have that month or do I not get it and risk it). IMO, I realized that I would rather be safe than sorry. Also, if you're Dr knows you are not immune he might not give you a choice in the matter.
TSH is your thyroid. Under 4 is considered normal for everyday purposes, but it is best under 2.5 while TTC. ?Between 1 and 2 is considered ideal for TTC. High TSH is linked to poor egg quality and m/c. Yours isn't too high that it should worry you, but I would seek treatment, and definitely get re-tested once you are pregnant as TSH is known to go up during pregnancy. I'm on a low dose of thyroid meds and my TSH was in the high 3-low 4 range.
I would go for the rubella immunization. I know putting off TTC for a month is tough, but it will put your mind at ease should you get a BFP.
Good luck!!?

My endocrinologist believes that most women with a thyroid problem should be maintained at a TSH level of between 1 and 2 in order to help them get pregnant -- and maintain the pregnancy.
I have hyperthyroidism (Grave's Disease); so I'm currently taking (PTU) propylthiouracil . A super low dose (25mg 2x a day). Thyroid issues run in my family...only found that out AFTER we started TTC and were having issues.
Here's a little more info on TSH...if you're interested:

Hey Pix-
Here are my CD 3 results if you want to compare (except TSH was mid cycle)
TSH=2.24; FSH=5.5; LH=7.4; estradiol=40 & prolactin=9
My RE didn't seem concerned about any of them, in fact we are at the tail end of stimming for our first IVF and I have responded really well. 15 follies on the left ovary and about 13 on the right. I go back tomorrow for another U/S and hopefully ER on Monday.
GL luck to you!!!
