  • Hi ladies!  He's doing good.  They weren't kidding that the NICU is a rollercoaster though.  Everytime we think he is doing great, something else takes a step backward.  He's kicking butt on feeding (though a tube) and starting to gain weight, which is great. Then his respiratory rate goes up for no reason.  He gets his blood pressure under control, then he needs a transfusion for his red blood cells.  All par for the course in the NICU, but man, is it hard from the parent perspective!

The great news is that he's one month old now, and chugging along.  They are trying to get him off the ventilator and breathing on his own w/ a CPAP machine soon.  That's a biggie.

I'm doing ok - but between pumping (hate it, but going to keep doing it) and going to the hospital twice a day, I have NO time to get anything else accomplished.  I've been doing a lot of late night/early morning bumping while I pump!  Thanks for checking in - keep the positive vibes coming!
