38 weekers and beyond-question for you

have you noticed decreased movement?

Re: 38 weekers and beyond-question for you

  • Yes, but my dr. says it is totally normal.  As long as you still are feeling LO move some, and you can always do a kick count if you are worried, you shouldn't be concerned.

  • I really haven't noticed decreased movement, although she does have clear periods of rest/sleep and movement.  I've been having a lot of contractions lately and they really get her going.
  • Butting in. with DD i had very decreased movement but would do a kick count twice a day to reassure myself. I always got 10 kicks in 30mins even though they tell you 10 kicks in 1 hour. hang in there ladies your almost there!!
  • Yes, and it bothers me. It's kind of scary even though I know that is what is supposed to happen since LO is running out of room. I'm sure I bug her, because if it's been to long I poke at her until she moves a bit.

  • Yes.  Now, it's a lot more attempting to stretch or shift from one side to the other vs. the constant kicking and punches from before.  She also gets the hiccups 2x day.  I can poke her a bit to get her to move if I get nervous.

  • Somewhat.  My OB said at my 38 week appt on Tuesday that decreased movement at this point is normal because he is running out of room.
  • Yep. He is moving way less these days. Despite what google says, my doctor said it was normal as long as he is meeting kick counts.

  • Yep.  She was going crazy last Saturday (37 1/2 weeks), but has been really quiet ever since then.  What little movement she does have is stretching her butt or feet against my belly.  She also gets the hiccups a couple of times per day.

I poke LO too! She definitely has sleeping patterns and usually doesn't require any provoking around 11pm Smile
