I went in today on CD 14 for an ultrasound to check for a follicle. I had one on the left, but it only measured at 11mm. My OPK has not yet shown a surge so I am hoping this will just be a longer cycle for me.
However, my longest cycles are usually 30 days which means if I have a 13 day luteal phase, then I would ovulate on CD17. That would be a surge on CD16...two days from now. How much can that follicle really grow in the next two days?
I go back on CD 16 for another ultrasound.
This is just the "practice" month to do all the testing before we start IUI next month, so I hope this is just my left ovary being lazy and next month my right one will get in gear.
The doc didn't tell me my FSH levels but he looked at my bloodwork today and said ovarian reserve was just fine.
Hmmm...I don't know anything about fertility drugs, but I assume he will want to stimulate my ovaries if they don't start growing some bigger follicles.
I hate not knowing!
Re: My tiny follicle...
I have been told that follies can grow 1-2mm a day. So if it was 11mm on CD 14 it could be 17mm by CD 17. Your follie will still grow after you surge. Or your cycle could end up being a day or 2 longer than usual and you will ovulate later.
Do you chart? Are you sure your LP is 13 days? Maybe it could be 12 days. It's hard to say for certain if you aren't charting and sometimes even if you are. My temps say I O'd Saturday, but I only started to surge that afternoon and I went for monitoring on Sunday and I hadn't O'd yet. They told me that u/s and b/w is more reliable than temping. So it will be hard for me to pinpoint when I O'd or how long my LP is this month.
Good luck - I hope your follie grows super well between now and CD 16.
