my poor maggie moo!

Maggie hurt herself a little while ago.  She scraped the inside of her back thigh in the back yard. It wasn't bleeding much but she cried pretty hard.  We called the vet and they told us just to put neosporin on it but now she is barely walking/moving and is whimpering when DH lifts her.  she doesn't even want to lay down.  So pityful Crying  Can we give her anything for the pain?  I feel so bad.

    Poor baby. I wonder if she could have pulled a muscle or done something besides the scrape that's causing the pain.

    Is there an emergency vet you can call? I would call to see if they can recommend something.

    can you ask your vet if you can give her aspirin? Tylenol is bad and so is everything else, but I think aspirin is ok. But you have to be careful about dosage,

    I don't know anything about dog meds, but I just wanted to say poor baby.  It is so hard when furbabies are sick or hurt.  Poor Maggie and poor you for having to worry about her.  If you have a local vet that is open 24/7 I might consider taking her just to get looked at.  Or maybe you can tkae tomorrow.

    Oh no, I am so sorry for little maggie.  Our pup hurt her feet a ways back and though I think your situation is a little different, IMO our pup was hamming it up for extra TLC because some times it was bothering her and sometimes it wasn't---->that little stinker!!

    One of our scotties used to take a baby aspirin every day (she had problems with her legs).  I would maybe call the vet first, though, to be sure it's safe for her.  I hope she feels better!

    Will she let you ice it for her?  Dogs can have aspirin, but  I don't know the dosage.  You would also want it to be a coated aspirin so it doesn't upset her tummy.  Poor thing.  I bet a blob of peanut butter on a spoon would help Wink

    Poor Maggie! I agree, I would call an emergency vet and see what they say. Maybe it's more than a scratch.

    I hope she feels better soon.

    Thanks girls DH is gonna take her to the vet tomorrow because it is starting to look more like a puncture rwound and might need stitches to close it so she doesn't get infected. She is sleeping now.
