I'm turning 30 and....

I'm having an episode. 

1. I have nothing fun planned.

2. We quite possibly might be scheduling our work xmas party for that night. I am NOT doing that on my 30th.

3. I have NEVER been outside this country, except Mexico. Doesn't count.

 

SIGH.

    Well, what do you want to do? Where do you want to go? My 30th birthday is in February, and I really want to go to NYC or Vegas. And yeah, I would skip the work party if it fell on my 30th birthday!

    Well I'm turning 30 in January and I don't have big plans either. Something big isn't really in the budget with 2 kids in daycare. ;( Oh well I'm not all that excited about being 30 anyway!

    I'm turning 30 in October....if it makes you feel any better, my 30th birthday will be spent at a wedding for a guy I can't stand!  He didn't come to our wedding because he "couldn't afford it".  DH is now in his wedding and he is expecting them all to shell out $500 each for his bachelor party!

    I can't remember my 30th birthday at all.  Guess it wasn't too special!  lol.  I don't think my 35th this year will be much better.  I did have a nice 30th for DH a few months ago, though.  Just dinner at home with friends.  But it was fun and the food was great if I do say so myself.  ;)

    I hope you can make some plans to get out of the country.  Start yourself a vacation fund and get yourself a passport!   Party!!!

    If it makes you feel any better, I dreaded turning 30 on my b-day so I asked my DH and best friend if we could have an incredible bash to help me forget I was turing 30.  They had a nice, little party for me w/ close friends/family on New Years Eve...I got shnoockered that night, and woke up the next morning puking.  I had a hangover that lasted a couple days that turned into a week...and yeah...one pregnancy test later...realized I was pregnant!  LOL...after all that, I wouldn't have minded a quiet night at home :oP

    I had a big catered party at a rental hall.  It was so much fun! :-)

    When I turned 30 9 1/2 years ago, my best friend and I threw me a great party.  We did it at my tiny studio apartment I was living in at the time in Boston and it was a blast.  I was single and not loving my job.  How life has changed.  Be thankfully for what you have and enjoy it - my 30's were way better than my 20's!!  Different in many ways but I feel like I am finally living life now and not just in it if that makes sense.,

    my 30th birthday.....oh joy.  I was 6 weeks post partum and my parents were here.  I think we went to Carrabas and ate Publix cake at home.  No friends, no party, I'm sure i got a few presents.

    #1) It shouldn't be up to YOU to figure out what to do for your birthday.  DH should be all up on that = planning to make it a-mazing!

    #2) This you will have to devise a reason why it MUST be changed!

    #3) plenty of cruises going out of Texas to the Caribbean - make it happen!
