UPDATE!! to...could it be the mirena??

YES!  It had moved...was sticking into my cervix...had to be removed.  The strings had KNOTTED up..baffled me and the doctor.  I couldnt feel the strings and the doctor had just told the nurse to call the hospital for a ct scan stat and to prep an OR when she said..."wait....there's a teeny tiny bit of string sticking out...I GOT IT!! "  I was crying.  Then she tells me she's had two women come in the past 2 days w/ them having fallen out.  This was not my regular doctor...he's on vacation.  His practice sent me to her practice because his nurse practition wasnt comfortable enough trying to get it out.  That was before we knew the strings were practically knotted into a ball.  I now have a terrible infection and am sceduled for the only BC I know that doesnt requires any drugs other than a one time anesthesia....i'm getting a tubal!  BTW....I immediately felt relief and the headache ive been suffering from is now gone.

    Oh no!

    So glad you are feeling better Smile

    My cousin had the same thing happen-it burrowed into her cervical wall, and she had to have surgery to get it removed.

    I'm glad you're feeling better. Stories like these make me scared to get an IUD! I would totally try to convince my H to get snipped before I got a tubal. There's no comparing the recovery.

    Oh my heavens I'm so glad you went in and you are ok.  That is so scary!  Thanks for the update and for posting about this.  I'm going to be in high alert now for anything that feels weird.

    Glad you're ok!  I commented earlier that I was having problems with mine today too, except I thught mine was falling out.  Just got back from appt where they checked me, and scheduled me to have a pelvic ultrasound on Monday to be sure it's still placed correctly.

    So glad you got to the doc, and are feeling better now!
