Looking for an OB at the new Maple Grove Hospital

My husband and I are TTC and I'm trying to get a jump on finding an OB Doc. We live in Brooklyn Park and in the future would like to deliver at the new Maple Grove Hospital.

My insurance is through Blue Cross/Blue Shield and I was able to find a couple of doctors on the Blue Cross site that are approved at the MGH. The docs I found were Taryn McEvoy and Jillian Hallstrom. I wasn't able to find many reviews for either of them online but I thought I might be able to get a litle help here.

Have any of you gone to either of these doctors before? What did you think? Would you go to them for your next pregnancy? Or would you recommend any other doctors in the area that deliver at MGH?

Let me know!

Thanks!

  • I haven't used either of those doctors, but I absolutely adore Dr. Lisa Baker with OGI (Obstetrics, Gynecology and Infertility, PA)

Dr. Baker has been rated as one of the top 10 OBGYN's by Twin Cities Magazine for the past several years - as are many of the other docs in this clinic.  Their Maple Grove Location is just across the street from MGH.

I have been so happy with the clinic in general.  I started seeing them when we started TTC and chose them because they have infertility options with thankfully we didn't need to take advantage of.  Dr. Baker was kind and compassionate and most of all informative and proactive when I went though my m/c and was equally as great when we started TTC again.  I'm now pg with twins (spontaneously) and they have been able to manage this high risk pregnancy really well.  I have seen a perinatal specialist a couple of times and they had such good things to say about Dr. Baker and the clinic that they didn't feel it was necessary for me to be at the specialist.  I just can't say enough for her and the clinic in general - everyone I've encountered has been fantastic!  I think they take most major insurances, so they should be covered by your insurance.  GL and congrats with your TTC journey!

  • I go to Oakdale OB/Gyn. They have offices in both Brooklyn Park and Maple Grove. They deliver at North Memorial and the new hospital.  I have seen a bunch of the docs and I like most of them.

I delivered 2 babies with them at North Memorial.  Dr. Hallstrom delivered my first one.

  • I also go to OGI clinic in Maple Grove.  I actually tried to get in with Dr. Baker, like the previous poster suggested, but she wasn't taking new patients.  So I got in with Dr. Grajczyk (pronounced Gray-check) and I LOVE her.  I have friends that see Dr. Gozen and Dr. Brown also. Everyone that I've seen in the clinic is wonderful.  I would highly recommend them.  They are across the street from the Maple Grove hospital.

  • Awesome! Thanks all!

I have an apt in April with Dr. Manneh in the Oakdale OBGYN group. I saw her recomended on another board so I figured I'd try her for my annual visit. I'm hoping we like her and the rest of the group!

We just started TTC so we have a bit of time to find a good doc still.

  • I have seen Dr. Manneh before and thought was pretty nice.  I really like Dr. Sarkinen at the Maple Grove office.

  • I just came across your post now. I do not reccomend McEvoy, she is extremely unprofessional and does not have alot of experience. I have seen her twice for my pregnancy and both times I was given misinformation and she seemed more concerned about my work status than my pregnancy or baby. Good luck to you.
