so I have this friend

So I have a friend that found out about a week ago that is pregnant. She has a baby that was born in January and she hasn't had a period since April. If she got knocked up in April she could be already through her first trimester and I am a little jealous! I think I would have rather not known at 4 weeks like I did. Knowing so early just makes the time creep on by, I think I would have rather known I was pregnant a lot closer to 13 weeks. How about you, would you have rather found out sooner or later?

    Yes

    Waiting is tough, but I would be upset if I didn't know and I was doing things I shouldn't be.  I would spend the rest of my pregnancy worrying about doing something that could have hurt the baby.

    It sounds silly but that's why I didn't test until after AF was late this time. Even those few days of ignorant bliss were good for my sanity I think. But I don't think I would want to go THAT long without knowing because of what the pp said, better to know and start doing things that will benefit your baby.

    That is true, her and I both have been on prenatals (she never stopped after her son was born and I didnt since I Iost the baby) and neither of us live a crazy lifestyle but you do have a point there. I was drinking a lot of caffiene before I found out and now I'm down to just a glass of tea or a can of coke.

    I found out two days before my expected period.  Though it means I feel like I have longer to wait, it also means I started taking 4mg folic acid sooner.  My diet hasn't really changed but knowing I'm taking the extra medicine to help prevent defects makes me feel better.

    I would rather know now.  Just because we have been trying for so long, and I would want to be taking the correct steps to help to have a happy healthy baby.

    I completely agree with both of these statements. Although it would be nice to already be in your second tri and ready to tell the world, it's nice to be able to know earlier to take those extra precautions for your baby.

    Asumming everything was safe and healthy, I would have rather known later than sooner since I found out around 3.5 weeks!

    I found out with DS at 6w 5d. With this one it was more like 3w 5d. I liked finding out at almost 7 weeks better.

    i kind of agree.  i'd been eating and behaving pretty carefully while we were ttc- i was drinking a little coffeee but that's it.  i wish i'd found out later.  when i had my m/c i was already 6 weeks when i found out i was pregnant.  this time i was only 3 weeks.
