Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Super Nanny's separation method worked for us!

Yay! I've worked on this for two months, but I can finally put DD down, say goodnight and walk out. This has been a struggle for about a year. I recommend it to anyone else having trouble getting their LOs to put themselves to sleep instead of being rocked, having you in the room, etc.

  • Definitely trying this! Thanks!
  • It is practically the same as the Sleep Lady method... her book is Good Night, Sleep Tight and her name is Kim West.  It worked for #1 and is working for #2.

  • The method sounds good- but 2 months?  It really took that long?
  • It didn't need to take that long, but I really eased her into it. I have a very strong willed toddler to say the least. I will say the longest I ever sat with her was 5 minutes and for the last 3-4 weeks it was literally 1-2 minutes and she was out. I think it was just getting her comfortable with me easing out of the room.

Gotcha.  I have a strong-willed one too.  They are a joy but so frustrating when they don't get their way.

The first night, she was out in 5 minutes?
