Anybody else having issues with how slow weight loss has been progressing? I'm on Weight Watchers and having a horrible time trying to squeeze in time to exercise. I work full time and can't dedicate the time I would like. I'm down 30 pounds, still have another 20 to go and I'm getting very disgruntled. I am in a wedding in Sept and getting nervous about the dress I have to wear. Any tips/suggestions? How about some good ol' moral support?
Re: Weight loss vent
I think I found the 30 lbs you lost.
Great job! Keep up the good work - can you go on walks with your LO? I don't have time to go to the gym, but I could put DS in the bjorn or stroller after work (while it's still light out).
Wish I could help! I am in the same boat...30 lbs to go still, plus the 10 I was trying to get off before I got pg. We go to the beach in 2 weeks and I really thought that was motivation enough....but like you said, no time! I get up at 4:30 am about 2 times a week to go to the gym but it's not enough! I need to get up EVERY day!
Hang in there and hopefully we will both find some motivation AND time soon!
I'm with you on the pp weight loss. I have 10 more pounds I'd like to lose and it is just crawling along. I too work full time and am having a hard time being motivated to exercise. I eat well within my calorie recommendations and breastfeed but it's still crawling along. If it makes you feel any better I'm in a wedding August 13th. I just got my bridesmaids dress and it zips up... barely... but it zips and I'm so glad. It would be nice if I could lose a few more pounds before then so it didn't fit so tightly but really I'm just thankful to be in a size 8.
Just keep your chin up and keep eating right. Losing weight is 85% diet anyway. As for the exercise, I will just drop and do a few pushups here or situps there and add in a lunge or a wall sit a couple of times during the day. It isn't really burning much but at least I feel like I'm toning.
Good luck and when the wedding does roll around just remind yourself that you just had a baby and you took care of yourself and sacrificed to look as good as you will and feel as good as you will.
I was having issues but then I figured out how to get a workout in most days of the week (at least four) and I've slowly reduced my calories, slowly enough to not affect my milk supply whcih has really done the trick. They say you need 2700 calories but that's to maintain your weight, not to lose while you chow through nearly 3000 calories each day. I'm down around 2000 a day and it's helped SO much.
I work 30 hours though so it makes it easier but if I had to work full time I'd still work out. I'd probably get up an hour earlier in order to fit it in. But I've always been highly motivated to work out and keep in shape. I highly recommend you do whatever you can to get some exercise in most days.
You can do this! You still have a month and more. You won't drop 30lbs in that time but you can get some great progress underway. I have been charting my weight and since 7/12 I've lost 4lbs. I'm SO happy because before that I was steady at the same weight since like, 8 weeks postpartum.
By the way, running a mile takes like, 10 minutes, so if you can squeeze in 20 minutes every day, you can cook off 200 calories in a 2 mile run. And if you do some high intensity strength moves (like rapid fire pushups, situps, jumping jacks, weight lifting, jump rope, lunges with weights, prison squats etc, one after another with no rest in between to keep up the heart rate and to exhaust the muscle) every other day, you'll start to see some real progress. Good luck and keep it up! YOU CAN DOOOO IIIIIT
What about taking daily walks with your LO, that's exercise! I have a treadmill, so when the kids are napping I jump on it, and if they don't nap at the same time that day, then I make sure to get them in the stroller and go for a long walk! Or what about taking a fitness class or getting a trainer 1-2 times a week at night when the baby is asleep and hubby is home?
