TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

divorce papers have been presented

to my RE. I hate them. I wanna claw out their eyeballs. Not sure if you remember, but my IVF cycle was a bust and it was the doc's fault due to not monitoring enough and when my levels dropped, they knew that the cycle might be a bust but still went ahead with the ET without TELLING me. I was never given a choice.. they went ahead and i thought everything was just dandy til we got 3 eggs and were expecting 11.. BASTARDS!!! Someone else decided when to do a procedure on my body knowing important details that were not told to me... UNEXCUSABLE!!!!!!! ok, i am done venting thanks for reading.

So, if I take a break between now and october to find a different doc.. should i go back to the fvckers to make sure there are no cysts cuz I just completed an IVF cycle. If there was, they wont do anything, right? just tell me to take a break and no meds. which is the plan anyway.. I really want to NEVER go back there again and wanna skip out of an u/s that I initiated cuz I wanted to go back on clomid.. but now that i am not, i dont wanna do an u/s/

WWYD?

I wanted to respond, since I'm pretty much in the same boat (wondering if we have the same RE?!?)

After a serious lack of monitoring, no bedside manner, and a holier than thou complex, I recently decided to break up with my RE.

I got a recommendation from a friend and called her RE last week. I had my first information appointment with him on Monday.

Here's how it's going to go down:

Assuming this IUI cycle is a bust (which I'm sure it is), I'll go to the new RE for CD3 bloodwork. He said that a CD3 u/s usually isn't needed unless that month you're doing a treatment cycle. Then, I'll have a new HSG done. Pretty much, next cycle will be just a lot of testing with the new RE, and getting all my old record and test results sent over from my current OBGYN and old RE (awkward conversation that will present.) Then, I'll start a new treatment cycle with him the next month.

If you're looking for recommendations, maybe throw that question on the IF board in case anyone is in your area and can recommend a good one.

    HTH!

  • That is so crappy.  I hope you didn't have to pay for that cycle or have it counted against your insurance.  I would probably just take a break and skip the meds until you find a new RE.  I just had 2 cysts the other day and they said I could take BCP or do nothing.  I hope everything works out.  Good luck with the RE search.

  • This is so sh!tty, I can't stand it.

I am so sorry you are dealing with this. I'm glad you are moving on to a different doc.

  • That's horrible!  I would take the break to find a new RE.  If you feel like you have a cyst, could you go to your OB?

I am in transition with my OB too.. but I could make that work.. I really dont feel like I have a cyst.. it was just for precautionary reasons cuz of the meds from IVF. It really doesnt matter as long as I am not going on Clomid...

  • I'm sorry you have to deal with that crap. I hope you are able to find an awesome one soon (((hugs)))

oh man.. I am soo sorry to hear that you are experiencing bad luck with your RE too. That really sucks. Looks like you have everything set to go for the new one. We have a consult appointment set up by a recommended doctor on the 31st of August.

WTF is wrong w ith these RE? There are supposed to be professionals and CARE about their patients... lack of monitoring, no bedside manner, do these doctors want to get sued.. do they not want ANY patients at all? I just dont get it.

I'm with ya....I don't get it either. My old RE was all about minimalist care...that if I'm not dying or having an ovary explode, it's probably not needed. I wonder if they have to fight with our insurance companies to get a lot of stuff covered? That's really the only reason why I can think of. Sometimes, minimalist care is all that is needed in certain sectors of medicine, but the purpose of an RE is to seek out and treat the strange and weird.

Glad to hear you have a new consult in the works. Fingers crossed for a good RE!

I think that's a great point, even if you have insurance you don't want that to be one of your chances down the drain if the doctor didn't do things right.

I'm sorry that sucks.  I hope you can transition easily to a good doctor.
