Mom's of baby boys come on in!

Our nearly 8 month old (where has the time gone!!) has started to sleep in his crib the last few nights. It has gone relatively well considering. Well, every morning when I go into his room to get him up, him and his crib are soaked with urine. He sleeps on his belly, so the pee is coming out the top fronts of the diapers and soaking everything. The back of the diapers are obviously dry.

I have tried both swaddlers and baby dry's in a size up. Tonight I am going to try Pamper's extra protection diapers in TWO sizes up to see if that does anything.

I know what's causing it...he likes to sleep on his belly and from being in that position all night long he soaks up the front of the diapers. I am at a loss as how to solve this dilemma.

Any other Mom's of baby boys have this same problem and resolve it?  What worked for you?

  • Do you aim his weenis downward when you put his diaper on?  If not, it will surely pee and leak all out the top.

We also sleep in overnight dipes, 2 sizes up at night to contain it all!

  • We did have this issue when he first started sleeping on his belly...but using a size up in diapers worked for us.  Hopefully usng the extra protection tonight will work for you, I'm not sure what else to suggest!
  • We also had this same issue when he started sleeping on his belly.  Huggies makes Overnight diapers that we use.  Babies R Us is the only place we can find the size 3 in these diapers, but using them has solved our problem!
  • I think we use the Huggies Overnights too.  I get them at Target.  We buy size 5 now. LOL.  They are so huge.

Yup, this is what we do! They are HUGE on him, but it does the trick. :)

  • We use and love Huggies Overnights for nighttime...sometimes, he'll still have leaks but not as much.  We get them a size bigger.  Huggies Overnights seem to work better for us than the Pampers Extra Protection.

  • yep, we have always tried to point his little wee-wee down in the diaper. i thought maybe the night before my husband might have forgot. so when i did his nigh-nigh diaper last night i made sure to do this. didn't help.

i'm going to try the pampers extra protection tonight. he currently in the swaddlers size 2-3 during the day. the box of extra protection dipes i have are size 4. i'm going to give it a try. if still no luck, then tomorrrow we will hit up target and try the huggies maybe.

we tried huggies brand regular dipes when he was first born. he peed out of them every time. that is why we stuck with swaddlers and then have slowly been transitioning to the baby dry's. they both worked very well for us up until he started sleeping in his crib on his belly 2 nights ago. so since the huggies regulars always leaked when he was first born, i am a bit leary if the huggies overnights will work or not. but i am willing to try if need be.

my only other idea is to put a cloth diaper liner in the overnights and see if that helps. we originally were going to do cloth diapers when he was born, so i have tons of those supplies i can use. i dunno....any other ideas let me know.

  • We have to use Huggies overnight for Wylee; we have for months.  I don't use Huggies typically but they are a life saver for the nighttime!
  • Anytime our little one's been in a disposable dipe, he either leaks or has a blow-out.  His explosive poo has made me very thankful for using cloth dipes LOL.
