Babies: 0 - 3 Months

baby acne & going back to school morning schedule?

First, my baby is 4 weeks old and has some serious baby acne.  It showed up around 2 weeks and has stayed strong since.  It's on her checks and the back of her neck.  I read online that if it is still around at 3 months to then tell the doctor b/c at this point there is not much you can do about it.  Anyone else have a baby with serious acne?  when did you see it get better?

I'm headed back to school when baby girl is 8 weeks old.  Right now she goes to bed around 9-10pm and wakes to eat at 4am and than at 7am to start her day.  I'm wondering if there is anyway to move her 7am feeding up to 5:30/6am or even extending her first feeding to 5am.  I'm not saying I want her on a strict schedule, but I'm trying to figure out if I need to wake up around 6am to get ready for school and get her to daycare, how I should work my morning routine.  Any tips/advice would be appreciated.  I'm planning on giving her bottles of BM and moving to pumping when I have 2 weeks left at home to get her used to receiving bottles of BM during the day while I would be in class.

  • Yes, DD got the baby acne right around one month and it took about 3 weeks to clear up completely. Pedi said just wash her face once a day with a warm cloth. Now she has beautiful skin!

  • Truthfully, baby acne only bothers the parent, she will be fine.
  • I don't have any advice.. I just wanted to tell you that I am so jealous that your baby is sleeping for 6 hours each night!!!!!

  • I am a school social worker (teacher calendar) and am going back to work a little bit later.  Feeding schedule: My DD is on the same schedule. She has her last feeding of the night around 9:30-10 and then wakes up at 4 am and 7-8 am.  I wish she would stretch it out to 5 am and then I can get ready for work after that.  I can't wait to hear advice too, but I have a feeling that since our LO's are BF, they will be setting the schedule for a long time.

  • I could have written this. DD goes down between 9:30-10:00 and is usually fitful from 4:00-6:30. She usually eats at 6:30 which is around the time I get ready to leave for school (I teach as well). I am so confused about when I can get ready in the morning without waking her up and time, etc. I'll keep an eye for suggestions!!
